The order was issued by Judge Patti Saris in Boston, following an emergency hearing, allowing Aydemir to remain in the U.S. while his case is further reviewed. His legal team argues that his association with a student group linked to Fethullah Gulen, a cleric accused by Turkey of orchestrating a coup attempt, does not constitute evidence of terrorism. The case has drawn attention to the complexities of U.S. immigration policies and the rights of international students.
