The Supreme Court of India dismissed petitions seeking a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the electoral bonds scheme, which allows anonymous donations to political parties. The court, led by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, rejected the pleas filed by the Association for Democratic Reforms and Common Cause, stating that the issues raised were already under consideration by a Constitution bench. The petitioners argued that the scheme promotes corruption and violates the right to information, but the court maintained that these concerns would be addressed in the ongoing review of the scheme's legality.
