Cox reversed his longtime position on Trump following the July assassination attempt
A recent poll conducted by Deseret News and the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah reveals that Utah Governor Spencer Cox's approval rating has risen to 63%, up from 59% in the previous quarter. The poll, which surveyed 802 registered Utah voters from April 2-12, 2025, indicates that Cox's approval rating has been steadily increasing since he took office. Among the key findings, 68% of respondents approve of Cox's handling of the state's economy, while 61% approve of his management of education issues. The poll also shows that Cox enjoys strong support among both Republican and independent voters, with approval ratings of 72% and 55%, respectively. Despite a slight dip in approval among Democrats to 42%, Cox's overall approval rating remains robust, reflecting positive public sentiment towards his leadership and policies.
