Malloy is the second person chosen by the governor for the five-member board this month. On Dec. 6, Stitt appointed Tulsa lawyer Susan H. Stava.
Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma has appointed Calvin Prince to fill the final vacancy on the Oklahoma Pardon and Parole Board, as announced on July 1, 2023. Prince, who previously served as the District Attorney for the 27th Judicial District from 1987 to 2007, brings extensive experience in law enforcement and criminal justice to the board. His appointment comes at a time when the board is under scrutiny for its role in clemency decisions, particularly in death penalty cases. Stitt's choice reflects his commitment to ensuring that the board includes members with a strong background in legal and judicial matters, aiming to balance the perspectives on the board which also includes members with backgrounds in social work, law enforcement, and victim advocacy.
