Taipei mayor calls for reduced tensions during rare visit of Chinese officials

Chiang emphasized the importance of peaceful exchanges and mutual understanding, highlighting the shared cultural and historical ties between the two regions. He expressed hopes that such interactions could pave the way for more constructive engagement and lessen the military and political tensions across the Taiwan Strait.
