The Seoul Central District Court has approved an arrest warrant for former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, citing charges of rebellion and abuse of power.

South Korea's former Defense Minister, Suh Wook, was formally arrested on charges related to a controversial plan to impose martial law during the 2017 impeachment of then-President Park Geun-hye. The Seoul Central District Court issued the arrest warrant, citing concerns that Suh might destroy evidence or flee. The allegations stem from a plot by military officials to deploy troops and suppress protests following Park's impeachment, which was seen as an attempt to maintain her presidency. This case has reignited debates about military involvement in politics and the integrity of democratic processes in South Korea.
