The U.S. has imposed import bans on three additional companies—Xinjiang Tianmian Foundation Textile Co, Ltd., Xinjiang Tianshan Wool Textile Co. Ltd., and Xinjiang Zhongtai Group Co. Ltd.—due to allegations of forced labor involving Uyghur Muslims in China's Xinjiang region. This action, announced by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, adds to the list of 27 companies now barred from exporting goods to the U.S. under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). The legislation aims to prevent goods made with forced labor from entering the U.S. market, reflecting ongoing concerns about human rights abuses in Xinjiang, where the U.S. and other countries have accused China of committing genocide and crimes against humanity against the Uyghur population.
