President Joe Biden has signed into law a bill that mandates colleges and universities to publicly report incidents of hazing, as well as cases of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. This new legislation, known as the College Transparency Act, aims to increase transparency and accountability in higher education institutions. The law requires these institutions to provide detailed information about such incidents in their annual security reports, which are already required under the Clery Act. This move is intended to help prospective students and their families make more informed decisions about college safety and to encourage schools to address and prevent these issues more effectively.
