A section of the under-construction Edappally-Aroor bypass in Kerala collapsed, sparking a political controversy between the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF). Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated that the state Public Works Department (PWD) had no role in the construction, which is being handled by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). The opposition, led by Congress MLA Anwar Sadath, criticized the government for not taking responsibility and demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.
