  • Butte's Uptown taxing district is lending owners of the old NorthWestern Energy complex $33,411, in part to pay off debts to local contractor.

The Butte-Silver Bow County Council has approved a $1.5 million loan from the Uptown Rental Assistance (URA) to help manage debts related to the Broadway Street Complex, a project aimed at revitalizing the area with new housing, retail, and office spaces. The loan will cover existing debts and fund ongoing construction, with the expectation that the project will generate sufficient revenue to repay the loan. Despite some delays, the project is moving forward with the support of local government and community stakeholders, aiming to enhance the area's appeal and economic vitality.
