"Article 142 has become a nuclear missile against democratic forces, available to the judiciary 24x7," Vice President Dhankar remarked, attacking the judiciary.
In a recent statement, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar criticized the judiciary for acting as a "super Parliament" and described Article 142 of the Indian Constitution as a "nuclear missile" aimed at democracy. Speaking at the 83rd All India Presiding Officers Conference in Jaipur, Dhankhar expressed concerns over the judiciary's use of Article 142, which grants the Supreme Court the power to pass any order necessary for doing complete justice in any case. Dhankhar emphasized the need for a clear demarcation of roles between the judiciary and the legislature to maintain the balance of power and uphold democratic principles.
