  • Doctors at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) have issued a 14-day strike notice over alleged unfair labour practices and unresolved grievances.

Doctors at Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret, Kenya, have accused the hospital's management of unfair labor practices, including the non-payment of salaries and allowances, and the failure to remit statutory deductions. The Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union (KMPDU) has highlighted that these issues have persisted for over a year, leading to significant financial strain on the doctors. The union has threatened to withdraw medical services if their grievances are not addressed promptly. The doctors are also demanding the implementation of the 2017-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and the payment of postgraduate fees for doctors pursuing further studies. The situation has escalated to the point where the union has given the hospital management a deadline to resolve these issues or face industrial action.
