Following this, he intended to travel to California to survey the aftermath of devastating wildfires, which had ravaged parts of the state, destroying homes and leading to significant loss. His visits were intended to underscore his administration's commitment to disaster relief and to address criticisms regarding the federal response to these natural calamities.
