US to announce $500M in weapons to be sent to Ukraine

The U.S. is set to announce a new military aid package for Ukraine valued at up to $500 million, which includes a variety of weapons and equipment. This package will feature ground vehicles like Bradley fighting vehicles and Stryker armored personnel carriers, as well as munitions for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), Javelin anti-tank weapons, and munitions for Patriot and Stinger anti-aircraft systems. This aid is part of ongoing support to Ukraine amidst its conflict with Russia, with the announcement expected to be made by Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin at the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. The aid aims to bolster Ukraine's defense capabilities as it faces continued aggression.
