Senior YSRCP leader and former Andhra Pradesh minister M Srinivasa Rao (Avanti) on Thursday resigned from the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led party, citing 'personal reasons', even as he alleged there was no respect for functionaries and cadres in the organisation.

A senior leader from the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Kilaru Rajesh, resigned from his position citing personal reasons and expressing dissatisfaction with the lack of respect and recognition within the party. Rajesh, who was the YSRCP coordinator for the Chandragiri Assembly constituency, mentioned in his resignation letter that despite his dedication and hard work, he felt sidelined and disrespected by the party leadership. His resignation comes at a time when the YSRCP is preparing for upcoming elections, highlighting internal discord within the party ranks. Rajesh's exit is seen as a significant blow to the party, especially in the context of maintaining unity and morale among its members.
