  • Metro Transit says 25 bus routes in St. Louis, St. Louis County and St. Clair County will get service expansions or other improvements starting Monday.

The article from STLtoday discusses Metro Transit's plans to expand its service due to an increase in the number of bus drivers. Starting next week, Metro will reinstate several bus routes that were previously suspended due to staffing shortages. This expansion includes the return of the #40 Broadway, #95 Kingshighway, and #35 Rock Road routes, along with the addition of new trips on other routes. The increase in service is attributed to a successful hiring campaign that has brought the number of drivers to 550, up from a low of 400. This improvement in staffing allows Metro to not only restore but also enhance service frequency and coverage, aiming to better serve the commuting needs of the St. Louis area.
