Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has called for the revocation of Article 26 of the Indian Constitution, which grants religious denominations the right to manage their own affairs in matters of religion. Dubey argued that this freedom has been misused by certain groups, pointing to the Pahalgam incident where a tourist couple was attacked by terrorists reportedly linked to a religious group. He emphasized that such misuse threatens national security and suggested that the government should reconsider the clause to prevent its exploitation. Dubey's statement has sparked a debate on the balance between religious freedom and national security.
