  • The Iowa DOGE and Iowa Anti-Semitism task forces, created by Gov. Kim Reynolds and Attorney General Brenna Bird, have begun meeting and conducting their work, albeit with scant public notice

The state of Iowa has established two task forces, one focused on combating anti-Semitism and the other on improving government efficiency, both of which have begun their work. The Anti-Semitism Task Force, led by Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird, aims to address and reduce anti-Semitic incidents in the state, following a reported increase in such incidents nationwide. This task force includes members from various sectors, including law enforcement, education, and religious communities, and is set to deliver recommendations by the end of the year. Concurrently, the Government Efficiency Task Force, chaired by State Auditor Rob Sand, is tasked with identifying ways to streamline state government operations and reduce costs, with a preliminary report expected in six months. Both task forces were established through executive orders by Governor Kim Reynolds, reflecting the state's commitment to tackling these significant issues.
