Minnesota Democrats have filed a lawsuit against Republican legislators, alleging that the GOP improperly and unlawfully ended a legislative session. The contention arose when Republican senators walked out of the Senate chamber, preventing a vote on a significant infrastructure borrowing bill. This walkout, according to the Democrats, violated the state's constitutional requirement for a continuous legislative session. The lawsuit claims that this action not only disrupted the legislative process but also infringed on the rights of Minnesotans to have their elected representatives fulfill their duties. The Democrats are seeking a court ruling to declare the session's end as unconstitutional and are asking for the Senate to be reconvened to complete its work.
