Lacey schools will ask voters for $92M in upgrades. Here's what it would fund
- "The need for updates can't be ignored," Lacey schools Acting Superintendent William Zylinski said in a plea to voters.
The Lacey Township School District in New Jersey is proposing a $92 million bond referendum to fund various school upgrades and improvements. This bond, if approved by voters, would finance the construction of a new middle school to replace the aging and overcrowded Lacey Township Middle School, which has been identified as having significant structural and safety issues. Additionally, the funds would be used for renovations at other district schools, including security enhancements, HVAC system upgrades, and the replacement of old roofs and windows. The referendum also includes provisions for expanding early childhood education facilities, improving accessibility for students with disabilities, and updating technology infrastructure. The district aims to address these needs to provide a safer, more modern, and efficient learning environment for its students.
