Kemi Badenoch, the UK's Business and Trade Secretary, has received support from Elon Musk after she warned that companies enforcing diversity policies could face legal action. Badenoch criticized the use of "covertly racist" diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs, arguing that they promote discrimination under the guise of equality. Her comments were made in response to a report by the UK's equalities watchdog, which highlighted that some DEI initiatives might be unlawful. Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, endorsed Badenoch's stance by retweeting her comments with the message "!!" and later stating that DEI is "just another word for racism." This support from Musk has amplified Badenoch's message, positioning her as a prominent critic of what she perceives as misguided corporate diversity efforts.
