  • The US has imposed sanctions on over 30 Russian oil service companies. At the same time, restrictions have also affected a Serbian company linked to Gazprom Neft, according to the US government website and the US Department of the Treasury.

The U.S. has imposed sanctions on Russia's largest oil companies, including Rosneft and Gazprom, as well as on several other entities and individuals, in response to ongoing geopolitical tensions. These sanctions, announced by the U.S. Department of the Treasury, target key sectors of the Russian economy, aiming to restrict Russia's ability to generate revenue from its oil and gas exports. The measures also include sanctions on Russian financial institutions, defense companies, and individuals linked to the Russian government, with the intent to pressure Russia over its actions in Ukraine and other issues. This move is part of a broader strategy to isolate Russia economically and limit its capacity to fund military operations. Additionally, the sanctions extend to entities in other countries that help Russia evade previous sanctions, signaling a tightening of the economic noose around Russia's international trade capabilities.
