  • The B.C. Conservatives are seeking a commission of inquiry into alleged election irregularities in a riding they lost by a razor-thin margin last year, including claims of improper voting at a mental health and drug treatment facility,

The British Columbia Conservative Party has called for an inquiry into the voting practices at a mental health and drug treatment facility in Coquitlam, following allegations that staff members were influencing residents' votes. The concerns were raised after a video surfaced showing a staff member at the Red Fish Healing Centre, operated by the Lookout Housing and Health Society, allegedly guiding a resident on how to vote. Conservative Leader John Rustad has criticized the potential for undue influence, especially given the vulnerability of the residents. Elections BC has confirmed they are investigating the matter to ensure the integrity of the electoral process.
