Officials are still trying to identify the person who placed bombs outside of the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee offices in 2021. Now they have fresh details.

The FBI has released new details about the pipe bombs placed near the Republican National Committee and Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C., on January 5, 2021, the day before the Capitol riot. The devices, which were discovered the following day, were described as "viable" and could have caused significant harm if detonated. The FBI has shared images and videos of a person of interest, described as a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a face mask, glasses, and gloves, carrying a backpack. Despite extensive efforts, including over 500 tips and interviews, the identity of the bomber remains unknown. The FBI continues to seek public assistance in identifying this individual, offering a reward of up to $500,000 for information leading to the bomber's arrest. The investigation has involved analyzing over 39,000 videos and 500 tips, but the case remains open with no arrests made.
