Giorgia Meloni, Italy's Prime Minister, has resigned from her position as president of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group in the European Parliament. This decision comes as she focuses on her national responsibilities and the upcoming European elections. Meloni, who has been a prominent figure in the ECR since 2020, will continue to support the group but believes that stepping down will allow her to better concentrate on her duties as Italy's leader. Her resignation was announced during a meeting in Brussels, and she expressed her commitment to the ECR's values and objectives, even as she shifts her focus.
