  Atlanta City Council President Doug Shipman has announced the 2025 committee chairpersons and appointments. The announcements were made at the Dec. 2 meeting, the last full council meeting of the year.

The Atlanta City Council has announced its committee chairs and appointments for the year 2025. Councilmember Andrea L. Boone will chair the Finance/Executive Committee, while Councilmember Michael Julian Bond will lead the Zoning Committee. Councilmember Marci Collier Overstreet is set to chair the Public Safety and Legal Administration Committee. Other notable appointments include Councilmember Dustin Hillis for the Transportation Committee, Councilmember Jason Winston for the Utilities Committee, and Councilmember Matt Westmoreland for the Community Development/Human Services Committee. Additionally, Councilmember Alex Wan will oversee the City Utilities Committee, and Councilmember Keisha Sean Waites will chair the Committee on Council. These appointments reflect a strategic distribution of responsibilities aimed at addressing key city issues like public safety, infrastructure, and community development.
