Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud, speaking at the India Today Conclave, asserted that he has never experienced political pressure from the government during his 24-year tenure as a judge. He emphasized the importance of judicial independence and the judiciary's role in upholding the Constitution, stating that judges are trained to make decisions based on constitutional morality rather than political influences. CJI Chandrachud also highlighted the judiciary's commitment to protecting citizens' rights and ensuring justice, underscoring that the strength of a democracy lies in its independent judiciary.
