  Fiji's coalition government is putting its political survival ahead of the people, the former Attorney General claims.

In a recent episode of RNZ's Dateline Pacific, Fiji's former Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, expressed his belief that the coalition government led by Sitiveni Rabuka is doomed to fail. Sayed-Khaiyum criticized the coalition's inability to effectively govern and highlighted the internal conflicts and power struggles within the coalition parties. He pointed out that the coalition's diverse and often conflicting agendas are causing instability and hindering progress on key issues. Sayed-Khaiyum also raised concerns about the coalition's approach to economic policies and their impact on Fiji's development. He suggested that the coalition's lack of a unified vision and strategy could lead to its downfall, potentially resulting in another election sooner than anticipated.
