  • "There have been enough divisions in the nation in the name of language, and it should not happen anymore," Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Friday amid the escalating row over the three-language formula implementation.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized certain political parties for exploiting the language issue for their own political gains, asserting that the BJP does not engage in such divisive politics. Speaking at the 38th meeting of the Committee of Parliament on Official Language in New Delhi, Shah emphasized that the BJP's focus is on development and unity rather than division through language politics. He highlighted the government's efforts to promote all Indian languages, noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently advocated for the use of mother tongues in education and official work. Shah also mentioned the significant increase in the use of Hindi in government communications and the translation of legal texts into various regional languages to make them more accessible to the public. He stressed the importance of linguistic diversity as a strength of India, urging for a balanced approach in promoting Hindi alongside other regional languages.
