Forest Service resets NW Forest Plan amendment public meeting in Sisters for next week

The U.S. Forest Service has rescheduled a public meeting originally planned for March 5, 2025, to discuss the Northwest Forest Plan Amendment. The new date for the meeting is March 12, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at the Sisters High School auditorium in Sisters, Oregon. This meeting aims to gather public input on the amendment, which seeks to update the management plan for 17 national forests across Oregon, Washington, and northern California. The amendment focuses on addressing climate change, wildfire risk, and the conservation of old-growth forests, among other issues. The public is encouraged to attend and provide feedback on the proposed changes.
