Supreme Court slams Centre and Assam for not deporting people declared as foreigners
- The Supreme Court criticised the Assam government and the Centre for indefinitely detaining declared foreigners instead of deporting them. Questioning the delay, the court asked if authorities were waiting for a "mahurat" and ordered the deportation of 63 detainees within two weeks.
