Imran Khan, Pakistan's former Prime Minister, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison on charges of corruption related to the illegal sale of state gifts. This conviction comes just days before the national elections, adding to the political turmoil in the country. Khan, who was ousted from power in April 2022, has faced numerous legal challenges since his removal, including allegations of misusing his position to buy and sell gifts received during his tenure, which were valued at over 140 million Pakistani rupees ($635,000).
