  • President Joe Biden signed a bill on Sunday that will repeal two laws previously preventing many public employees from receiving Social Security benefits.

President Joe Biden has signed a new law that will benefit certain federal government workers by allowing them to remain in the Social Security system. This legislation, known as the Social Security Fairness Act, repeals the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO).
