Syria's Foreign Minister Asaad Al Shibani said on Friday he will make official visits to the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Jordan this week, days after travelling to Saudi Arabia on his first trip in office.

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad is scheduled to visit the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Jordan this week, marking a significant diplomatic engagement as Syria seeks to reintegrate into the Arab fold. This series of visits comes after Syria's readmission to the Arab League in May 2023, following a period of isolation due to the civil war. The visits aim to strengthen bilateral relations, discuss regional stability, and address humanitarian issues, particularly in light of the ongoing refugee crisis and the need for reconstruction in Syria. Mekdad's agenda includes talks on political solutions to the Syrian conflict, economic cooperation, and the potential normalization of ties with these countries, which have varied in their approach to the Syrian regime in recent years.
