Farmers' union Sanyukt Kisan Morcha decides not to join the Supreme Court's high-powered committee meeting, criticizing its focus on clearing blockades over core issues like MSP. The decision coincides with leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal's deteriorating health amid a 37-day hunger strike.

The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) has decided to boycott a meeting of the Supreme Court-appointed committee on farm laws, alleging that the focus of the panel has shifted from addressing agricultural issues to merely clearing road blockades. The SKM, an umbrella body of various farmer unions, expressed disappointment over the committee's apparent lack of interest in discussing the core demands of farmers, such as the repeal of the three contentious farm laws. Instead, the panel seems preoccupied with facilitating the removal of blockades set up by protesting farmers. This decision to skip the meeting was announced after the committee, led by former Agriculture Secretary Sanjay Agarwal, failed to address the farmers' primary concerns in previous interactions. The SKM has also criticized the government for not engaging in meaningful dialogue and for using the committee as a means to dilute the farmers' protest.
