  • President Marcos has issued an order directing government agencies to support the implementation of the 2024 National Security Strategy (NSS) that aims to address internal and external security challenges.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has called for support from both the public and private sectors to bolster the Philippines' National Security Policy (NSP) and National Security Strategy (NSS). During a speech at the National Security Cluster Summit, Marcos emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to national security that includes not only military defense but also economic stability, environmental protection, and cybersecurity. He highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration among various government agencies, the private sector, and civil society to address both traditional and non-traditional security threats. Marcos also stressed the significance of adapting to new forms of warfare, such as cyber threats, and the necessity of a robust defense posture in light of regional geopolitical tensions. The President's call to action aims at ensuring the Philippines can effectively respond to and mitigate security challenges while promoting national development.
