  • Taking Congress leaders to task for allegedly doing the worst politics in the state, Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H D Kumaraswamy said that the state government is deliberately targeting opposition leaders using police force.

Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy criticized the Congress government in Karnataka for allegedly restarting "revenge politics" by targeting BJP leaders with legal actions. He highlighted that the Congress, after coming to power, has been filing cases against BJP leaders, including a notable instance where a BJP worker was arrested for sharing a video of a Congress leader. Kumaraswamy accused the Congress of hypocrisy, pointing out that during their time in opposition, they had criticized the BJP for similar actions. He also mentioned that the Congress government has been transferring officials who do not comply with their directives, suggesting an abuse of power. This comes in the context of political rivalry and the upcoming national elections, where such actions could be seen as attempts to weaken the opposition.
