John Swinney, the new leader of the SNP, is on track to secure a victory in the upcoming Holyrood election, according to a recent poll by Savanta. The poll indicates a significant drop in support for Scottish Labour, with their vote share decreasing by 10 points to 25%, while the SNP has seen a slight increase to 39%. This shift suggests that the SNP could potentially win 57 seats, a gain of 11 from the last election, while Labour might lose 12 seats, reducing their total to 22. The poll also shows a decline in support for the Scottish Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats. This change in voter preference comes after Swinney replaced Humza Yousaf as SNP leader, with his leadership seen as a stabilizing force for the party amidst previous turmoil.
