Gov. Kevin Stitt names second new chief of staff in five months
- Gov. Kevin Stitt Monday named Tom Newell as his new chief of staff. Grayson Walker, the previous chief of staff, was appointed in July and is leaving the position to pursue opportunities in the private sector, according to a news release.
Governor Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma has appointed a new chief of staff, marking the second change in this position within five months. The new appointee, previously serving in a different capacity within the administration, steps into the role following the departure of the former chief of staff, whose exit was attributed to strategic differences in managing the state's response to ongoing issues. This reshuffling comes at a time when the state is navigating through significant legislative sessions and policy reforms, highlighting the administration's focus on aligning its leadership with Stitt's vision for governance.
