In Manipur, protests erupted after security forces allegedly covered the state's name on a government bus carrying journalists, an action perceived as an attempt to conceal the location amid ongoing ethnic violence. The incident occurred when the bus, en route to Jiribam district, was stopped at a security checkpoint in Noney district, and the forces used a cloth to cover the "Manipur" inscription on the vehicle. This led to widespread outrage among locals and journalists, prompting demonstrations in Imphal, where protesters demanded accountability and an end to such actions that they believe undermine the state's identity.
