Christian County leaders purchased more than 39 acres of land near Missouri 14 and 25th Street in Ozark in 2021. The goal was to not only build fresh government offices, but to also add commercial development.
The new Government Plaza in Christian County, Missouri, is a $15 million project aimed at consolidating various government offices and stimulating economic growth. Located at the intersection of State Highway 14 and Ozark Avenue in Ozark, the plaza will house the county assessor, collector, clerk, and recorder of deeds, improving efficiency and accessibility for residents. The development is expected to attract new businesses to the area, with the county offering incentives such as tax abatements and infrastructure improvements. Construction is set to begin in early 2026, with completion anticipated by late 2027. The project is seen as a significant step towards modernizing the county's infrastructure and fostering economic development.
