Ban 'politricks', not student politics: Kerala High Court on plea to ban on campus politics

The Kerala High Court has ruled that while student politics should not be banned from campuses, the practice of "politricks" or negative political activities must be prohibited. This decision came in response to a petition by the Kerala Students Union (KSU) challenging a ban on student politics at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani. The court emphasized the importance of student politics for fostering leadership and democratic values but highlighted the need to eliminate disruptive and violent political activities. The court directed the university to establish a committee to oversee student elections and ensure they are conducted in a manner that promotes healthy political engagement without compromising academic activities.
