Today is the final veto day before the General Assembly convenes for the last two days of the 2025 regular session.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has signed several bills into law aimed at enhancing education and economic development in the state. Key among these is Senate Bill 5, which introduces a new funding model for public schools, focusing on student needs and aiming to provide more equitable funding distribution. Additionally, House Bill 159 was signed to support economic growth by offering incentives for businesses to invest in Kentucky, including tax credits for job creation and investments in certain industries. Another significant piece of legislation, House Bill 331, addresses workforce development by expanding career and technical education programs in high schools, preparing students for direct entry into the workforce or further education. These bills reflect a concerted effort to bolster both the educational infrastructure and economic landscape of Kentucky.
