The Welsh Government has declined to release a letter sent to the UK Government regarding the potential negative impacts of changes to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Universal Credit. This decision was made despite a Freedom of Information request, with the Welsh Government citing that the letter contains policy advice and is part of ongoing discussions. The letter reportedly warns that the proposed changes could lead to increased poverty and hardship for disabled people in Wales.
