Manila mayoral race remains fluid - survey firm
- The mayoral race in the country's capital city remains wide open, ensuring a high-stake contest among the three aspirants as election day draws closer, an independent, non-commissioned survey showed.
The Manila mayoral race is currently unpredictable, according to a recent survey by WR Numero Research. The survey, conducted from May 21 to 28, 2024, with 1,200 respondents, shows that no candidate has a clear lead. Former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, who is running for a Senate seat, still holds significant influence with 37% of respondents favoring him if he were to run for mayor again. However, with Moreno not in the race, the competition is open among candidates like Alex Lopez, who has 21% support, and others including Honey Lacuna, who has 16%. The survey also indicates that 26% of voters are still undecided, highlighting the fluidity of the race.
