The Government Committee of the officially nonpartisan Legislature advanced both winner-take-all proposals Monday along party lines.
Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen's advocacy for a winner-take-all system in the state's Electoral College vote allocation has led to significant legislative movement. On March 1, 2023, two bills, LB 764 and LB 765, which aim to change Nebraska's current system of splitting its electoral votes to a winner-take-all approach, advanced from the Government, Military and Veterans Affairs Committee.
