Critics had assailed the Nassau County executive for not ordering flags at half-staff to honor the 39th president.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman has ordered flags at all county buildings to be flown at half-staff in honor of former President Jimmy Carter, who has entered hospice care.
