  • Nigel Farage has been given the green light to knock down a "tired" house on the Kent coast and replace it with a three-storey new-build. The Reform UK leader revealed plans for the seafront home in Greatstone on Romney Marsh earlier this year.

Nigel Farage has been granted permission to demolish his current home in Greatstone on Romney Marsh, Kent, and replace it with a modern three-storey house. The new build will feature a basement, a first-floor balcony, and a second-floor roof terrace, significantly altering the property's footprint and height. The decision by Folkestone and Hythe District Council came after Farage argued that the existing 1950s house was "tired" and in need of replacement. Despite some local objections regarding the design and its impact on the area's character, the council approved the plans, noting that the new structure would not adversely affect the neighbors or the local environment. The project includes provisions for parking and landscaping, aiming to blend the new construction with the surrounding area.
