The Ankeny City Council has appointed former council member and mayor pro tem, Bobbi Bentz, as the new mayor following the resignation of Mark Holm, who stepped down to focus on his health. Bentz, who has served on the council since 2016, was chosen in a unanimous decision during a special meeting. She will serve the remainder of Holm's term, which ends in January 2026. Bentz expressed her commitment to continue the city's progress and thanked the council for their trust in her leadership.
