Speaking at the Future Minerals Forum in Riyadh, he highlighted that while the project has potential, it is still in the experimental phase. The minister also discussed the broader implications of such technology, suggesting that if successful, it could significantly impact the global supply of lithium, a key component in electric vehicle batteries. Additionally, he mentioned that Saudi Arabia is looking into other minerals like rare earths, aiming to diversify its economy beyond oil.
